Longing
by Theo Huxley
I’ve loved. I’ve lost. I’ve wept and laugh’d.
I’ve seen horror, new worlds and past.
I’ve seen the face of tortured souls.
I’ve seen how the ocean surges and lolls.
I’ve seen the boiling desert sand.
I’ve seen the last men, brave men stand
And fight to the death. I’ve seen it all
But never, shall I, see the wall
On which, you, bored, lean, lovely, tall-
And if I traipse through land and sea
I’ll never find that part of me.
